Hi. My name is Richmond ("Gone but Not Forgotten). I would be honored to be on the Brew Calendar Cover as I was one of the very early Brew Beagle rescues and my story has a VERY HAPPY ENDING! I was a backwoods older hunting dog, badly neglected, emaciated and terrorized by gun fire. When I was found running away on Richmond Highway, Brew immediately came to my rescue. Despite being totally unsocialized, Brew did not give up on me! After several months at the vets for heartworm treatment, a new volunteer foster saw my sad face and traveled 100 miles to pick me up. She held me tightly while I shivered all the way home.
She flunked "Fostering 101" as called Brew the next morning insisting she wanted to adopt me. I refused to eat for 5 days, was terror stricken by loud sounds, hid in every nook and cranny, and shamefully tucked my tail beneath me during leash training. People would ask "What's wrong with your new dog?"

Being a Brew rescue at age seven (7), I did not trust anyone nor know the feeling of human kindness and love. Despite my many challenges to repair my soul, I slowly gained confidence that this might truly be my forever home. The deal was sealed when Mom brought home a gift for me-a new foster. This very young, gorgeous blond beagle bounded across the room wagging her tail, slathering me with big kisses. WOW.. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. We named her "Girlie."

Our next 10 plus years together were truly a "fantasy land." Along the way Mom met a man, falling in love. She told him we were a package deal, and if we did not trust him there was NO DEAL! He was a tall fellow with a low gentle voice. Instinctively, he knew not to approach me, so when I casually walked over to "check HIM out" I instantly trusted him. Mom was stunned, but filled with joy. "We" had a great wedding and many more adventures at our beach house, chasing waves, sun filled deck days, naps by the fireplace, homemade chow and most importantly, feeling unconditionally loved. BREW BEAGLE with its caring volunteers ROCKS!
