Hi. My name is "Girlie" and I would appreciate your VOTING for my handsome beagle mate, RICHMOND for the Brew Calendar Cover. He had a very, very sad beginning in life, but thanks to Brew's rescue developed a "Heart of Gold." He is so loyal he insisted on Mom entering me in this fun contest to help other beagle souls.

I am one of the early Brew Beagle rescues, but had it easy. After my tired, older pregnant beagle Mom was saved from a kill shelter, I was born on a farm. I was later transported to a kind vet in Purcellville, awaiting fostering. My volunteer foster had a surprise when she arrived. Although expecting to pick up my brother, Foxy, we had both just climbed over their 20 foot fence. He escaped, making me the a winner! I was a little nervous on my ride to my new home.

However, one glance at Richmond, age seven (7) had my heart pounding. I knew I had met my Beagle Soul mate. He immediately showed me the ropes, including exploring the big back yard, how to jump on the comfy leather couches, make longing looks for more treats, play "tennis soccer ball, " lie in piles with Mr. Kitty, and walk on a leash with my head held high. While I continued to be a very blonde, energetic, somewhat self-centered, silly gal, he loved me even more!

So once, again my Mom flunked "Fostering 101," adopting me immediately. For more than a decade we were inseparable. Some of our most fun memories were at our beach house, running carefree at the shores edge, ears flapping in the wind looking for treasures. We loved our travel in the car, especially our 3 week adventure to Florida and Georgia, visiting many friends along the way. Richmond and my life were truly a loved filled "fairy tale."

Alas, one early February morning as Richmond napped by the fireplace, Mom told me that he was sick, needed a rest, and had won a ticket to a special place called "Rainbow Bridges." She quietly whispered if we loved him we needed to be happy, however would see him in the future.. My picture here was taken at Assateague Island in 2012 still hoping to see Richmond running by the ocean's shore.

Please vote for my sweet Richmond, however if you want to give me a few for a summer month I know it will help save other beagle lives. Big Kisses.........."Girlie"
