Lady was a perfect girl. She lived from 1997 - 2013 and died of lymphoma just before her 16th birthday. She loved to run like around our home with the puppy crazies. Lady always loved belly rubs and treats. When we went to the vet she would sit beneath the counter and stare. If no one came around with treats she would give a low woof until one of the girls fed her some treats. Lady was a beagle/border collie mix and she loved to herd anyone who came into the house. She would jump up on her hind legs and slightly push people into the living room. She would end the day sleeping at my feet on the bed.
Lady was a strong girl who dealt with lots of health issues but they never got her down. She suffered from incontinence, mast cell tumors, and finally lymphoma. She even had kennel cough shortly after we adopted her. We had to wrap her in a blanket and spoon feed her water. Finally her hind legs weakened and she couldn't stand up without help. No matter the health issue this tough girl always rallied. On her last day I was waiting for the train station to open and had a sudden shock that told me to go home. When I got home, she was stuck under the bed. I helped her out and into a standing position. She walked to her potty pads but couldn't squat so she simply fell to her stomach and lay looking out the sliding glass doors. We again had to spoon feed her water. This is when we realized her time had come. I carried her to the car and into the vet's office where I held her until the end and we said goodbye until we meet again at the rainbow bridge.
