My Story
After suddenly losing my 6 year old basset Luke to cancer this past October, I befriended a stranger I saw while driving by our local dog park after seeing Fred. We got to talking and ended up exchanging information. A few weeks later she knew how much I missed my basset hound and was kind enough to ask if I would be willing to dog sit for her one weekend. Fast forward to a few months down the road, she contacted me again asking if I could dog sit, of course I said yes! Over that weekend we got our first snow of the season which happened to be Fred’s first snow. I took this photo that weekend along with a dozen others and sent them to her. When Sunday rolled around she messaged me and asked if I wanted to keep Fred! She explained more of her current situation and told me that she thought Fred would be much more happy living with me, where he has tons more room to run around and play with our other dog. Since that day Fred has been ours and we could not be more tickled to have him!
