Enter your favorite photo of your furry family member for just $5 for a chance to win one of 12 coveted spots in the 2021 Calendar Photo Contest. This contest is open to all residents of Alberta. Winners must be available for photo shoots with Chic & Grace AUGUST 18-20 in Red Deer, AB. Help the animals of CAHumane by sharing your entry and encouraging others to vote, vote, vote! All funds raised will directly support the medical care of animals awaiting adoption in shelter. TOP 6 will automatically receive a spot in the calendar, the next 6 will be selected by panel of judges based on photo & story. Please no professional or altered photos.
Entry
Submit a photo of your pet(s) and include:
- Name of your Pet/s
- Pets Age/s
- Your Name
- Your Email
- Your City and Province
- A paragraph that tells voters more about your special pet/s. Make it interesting, fun and heartfelt to encourage those votes! If you adopted or rescued your pet be sure to let everyone know.
Photos must be clear, of good quality and high resolution — 300 dpi or higher in PNG or JPG format — and no greater than 5MB. Sorry, we cannot accept hard copies & altered or professional photos. All submitted photos may be shared out on CAHumane social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter & Instagram! All entries must be the original work of the entrant. You must own the copyright to the photograph. All photo entries must be of small companion animals such as dogs, cats and pocket pets. The animals must be alive, in your care and available to meet the eligibility requirements of the photographer. CAHumane retains the right to remove any inappropriate entries and provide a full refund.
Contest & Voting Fees
Each photo entry is $5. You may submit multiple entries but remember that this will not increase your chance of winning and votes will simply be spread out amongst your entries. The Submissions & Voting Period starts on July 4, 2020 at 8:00 AM MST and ends on July 25, 2020 at 10:00 PM MST.
Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote. We encourage you to e-mail the contest link and spread the word through social media to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your favorite contestant's photo. Votes may be cast during the Voting Period only. All donations for votes are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Donations and photo entries for this online contest that are submitted via other means (snail mail, in-person or main website donation page) will be accepted as donations but not applied toward the contest. Contest payments made online are through a secure site.
Prizes & Winner
The top 6 pets with the highest votes and 6 additional judged entries will be featured in the 2021 CAHumane Calendar. 1stplace recipient of the most votes will be featured on the cover and January page of the Calendar. The Calendar will be available for sale in fall of 2021. Winners must be available for photo shoots with Chic & Grace Studios August 18-20 in Red Deer, AB. Due to photographers busy schedule alternate dates are likely not possible.
CAHUMANE will attempt to notify the top finalists via telephone or email as soon as possible after the contest closes. If the potential winners cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the organizer may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place from the next non-winning, eligible top vote-getter. All winners will be required to attend a special photo session with Chic & Grace Studios August 18-20, winners must be available during these dates. Location of the photo shoot will be determined by the Photographer and CAHUMANE to ensure the pet's safety. Only pets will be featured in the calendar. Winners will receive one complimentary photo session for the Calendar shoot and a digital copy of three photos of their choice from the session as well as a 2021 CAHumane Calendar. 1st place winners from both the vote and judged category will additionally receive a canvas style print valued at $250+. Other prizes will be shown on Prize page of website.
Miscellaneous
CAHumane reserves the right to modify or clarify any of the contest rules during the term of the contest without advance notice. CAHumane reserves the right to use any photos submitted for marketing purposes. Entrants & Voters who donate over $20 will be eligible for a free 2021 CAHumane Calendar. Tax receipts for donations over $30 will be available upon request (less the fair market value of calendar).
