Dog's Story or Bio
Dory came to us after the hurricane from a Louisiana shelter. She has made so much progress and is ready for a place to call home. Dory is an 8 year old yorkie with special needs, so she will need an experienced adopter. She has type1 diabetes which is well controlled with a strict diet and Insulin injections twice a day. She is also heartworm positive but has already begun the process of slow kill treatment. She came to us weighing only 4lbs and is now up to 6lbs of pure sweetness! She also has cataracts and mild vision loss. Dory is potty pad trained but she will also do her business outside. She does well in a kennel, but truly prefers to be right next to her person at all times. A nice warm lap is her favorite place to be.
