Dog's Story or Bio
I first saw Paxton on a website saying he was on a euthanasia list for the upcoming Friday. He was at a high kill shelter in the town next to mine. Daily I would watch to see if he'd been adopted. I wasn't looking to adopt at the time but something told me "I needed him". I called early to the shelter to talk with the person over the shelter. I told him that I was taking off work that afternoon to come get him. I gave him my name and was assured he would be there. When I got to the shelter, they brought him to me. I had brought a dog blanket to hold him. I had never seen a dog in that bad of shape. His hair was so long & matted & his little paws were wet from nervous licking. I couldn't even see his eyes. I told them, "I want to take him home." I was told I couldn't take him until he was neutered & given shots. I started crying & begged them to get it done asap. I left the blanket with him & kissed and hugged him. The next afternoon I walked out with Paxton neutered & with shots but covered in fleas & ticks and then straight to my vet. The vet thought he was about 6-7 years. The minute I walked into my house with Paxton he became part of a pac with a Black Miniature Poodle & Black Cockashu. I can say that my years with Pax were some of the best ever! Paxton lived to be almost 13 years old, 1 1/2 of those he had become blind & deaf but you would have never known because he got around with no problem at all. I miss him everyday and look forward to another pac in the future.
