Your Pet's Story or Bio
Hi my name is Reggie, I am a seven and a half Chocolate Labrador, who now lives in Canberra.
Originally I was living on a farm outside of Brisbane with my brother Buddha, and then when I was around 11 months, my life changed for the better, when I was adopted through ‘Labrador Rescue’ in Brisbane by my parents Veronica & Jason. Here is my story. 🐾
Adopting Reggie has been a continual gift that he gives to us each and every day. His affectionate, companionable, and caring nature, has always meant that he has been from Day One part of our family.
What adds to Reggies uniqueness and always happy nature is about the date he was born.
We didn’t realise at the time when Reggie joined our family, (he was 11 months at the time ), what his exact date of birth was, and subsequently yet another reason why we love him so much.
Reggie was born on Thursday, 30 October 2014, this day was the day my life also did a complete 360, and was my last day of work.
I was a busy working professional, who now as I reflect worked ridiculous hours!
I was taken to hospital on this day,when for no reason I kept falling over. It turned out after much testing that I have two conditions; Auto Immune Encephalitis & Acute Vasculitis.
As Reggie’s life began, my new life also began.
The relevance is not only that both dates coincide, but because Reggie’s happy self has an inate sense that I am about to experience one of my seizures/episodes.
He will come and sit with me which especially in the early days made me feel not alone.
We fondly refer to ‘Reggie’, as our little human. From the day we were fortunate to have Reggie join our family, we are all better people. He has a friendly, happy and caring nature. I have never seen him not being his happy self.
My husband and I are so grateful that he came into our life.
