Pet's Story or Bio
Croix (pictured on top of Woody) was a stray on the island of St. Croix. He was rescued by the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center, who sent him (and a bunch of dog friends) to Miami via Island Dog Rescue. CASPCA dispatched it's Care-a-Van to Miami and scooped up the crew. We adopted him in March 2019. He followed Woody around everywhere and I caught this moment of him using Woody as a pillow, which he did often. Woody recently passed (after 14 happy years) and Croix misses his snuggle buddy. Luckily he has 2 other rescue dogs to keep him company; however none of them can quite tolerate the amount of cuddling Croix enjoyed with Woody. He's a happy, healthy boy, and I'm so glad that CASPCA made the effort to bring him to Charlottesville, so we could bring him home!
