I decided to adopt a cat on Halloween night 2020, while at a fire pit with some friends. I'd been pretty lonely throughout the pandemic (plus, I'd had major surgery, been dumped, and laid off all in the span of three months). The next day, I told another close friend and cat owner that I wanted to adopt a cat, and what she thought of the idea. She sent a pic of Tux (formerly known as Blimp) along, with note saying her friend's friend was fostering this guy and he'd be worth a meet. Turns out I not only knew Tux's foster, she was at the Halloween fire pit! She just didn't overhear my "I think I need a cat" conversation. I met Tux a few days later, and was immediately smitten with his expressive (and VERY handsome) face, his sweet and goofy and smartypants nature, and, well, that pink nose and those WHISKERS. Me 'n' Tux were meant to be.
