Chief was in such bad shape when he got to the SPCA, he had been shaved to get rid of all of the ticks. He looked like a little lion. The volunteer told me he had been outdoors for quite a while, due to the many fighting scars they found when they shaved him.
I picked him up out of his cage, and he just nuzzled me and started "making biscuits".
Now, he looks forward to dinner at 7pm, ev-er-y night, ANY size Amazon box, and lots and lots of head scratches.
