Colby was rescued along with her sister after running around in Charlottesville neighborhood for over a week. Both have been heavily abused especially Colby and both deserved amazing homes. Colby became mine after an outing with a UVA sorority sister created some heavy eye contact. I was heading to Bodos and she was sitting outside the Virginian. It was love at first sight. Mostly because food was involved for both of us and, lab owners unite, you know they love food. I remember sitting in the shelter for two hours waiting for her to come back from her outing. And when I adopted her it was the happiest day of my life until she proceeded to then pee on my couch, eat my Louboutins, chew up two pairs of Ray-Bans, and take all my books that I would read and create a nest and sleep on them. But I really didn’t mind…now 10 years later she’s gone cross country multiple times with her golden sister Rain. I’ve never taken a vacation without her and I don’t plan to anytime soon. Hopefully she’ll get a job and start paying those hotel bills for me.
