Pet's Story or Bio
Penguin was found as part of a feral litter of baby kittens in summer 2013. After bringing him and his siblings to CASPCA to be vetted, we agreed to foster them until they were old enough to come back to be adopted. His siblings all quickly became socialized, but Penguin continued to hiss and growl at us for 7 weeks! We figured he would likely have to be adopted out as a barn cat. The week before they were due to come back to CASPCA, he decided to slowly crawl into my lap one day, and timidly started purring and let me pet him. It was at that moment, he became a foster failure, and found his forever home. Penguin is a friendly, spunky, and sweet kitty today, but still has his feral moments of tearing through the house and hiding. His feral mom lives outside in our backyard (after becoming a TNR participant), and they say hi to each other through the porch window every few days.

When did you adopt your pet from the SPCA?
July or August 2013 (his name was Sirius Penguin at that point)
