After discovering the ad for Rocco in the Sun in July ‘09 I called and asked for him which I was told , “ we’re so sorry sir , we have had hundreds of requests and already and working on the process to narrow down to who he would essentially go to . “ Condensing this story; two days later I was called and said I was now on a list of 10 to meet him ! After the meeting his foster parent instinctively “ knew” where he belonged and let him come to his new home that day.! Miracles happen ! That was 13 years ago.Rocco is still living a great life traveling the U.S.A. , camping , road trips , daily play and these days mostly long naps .Most of all is the joy and inspiration he has brought to literally hundreds young and old who stop to pet him and exchange Chihuahua stories of love and fun. Rocco’s actual age is unknown, however it’s likely 18-19 years today. He prefers being hand fed with a ever changing types of food varieties. Not limited to just dog foods but occasional muffins, cupcakes , chocolates, fresh vegetables. To say our little boy is worshipped is a understatement,I always think back to the day he came to his forever home , with the thought of how much he has “rescued “ us with his fierce loyal companionship , licks and kisses. We are forever grateful to the Castaway Critters foster parent who all those years ago “ just knew”. Rex & Marlene
