About Us

Cat Haven's mission is to lead Baton Rouge in becoming a "no-kill community" for cats and kittens by providing care, shelter, and adoption services as well as advocating routine spaying and neutering for population control. Cat Haven, started in 1999, is a Louisiana non-profit organization and was Baton Rouge's first cat-only rescue organization. Cat Haven has an adoption center professionally designed with all the amenities cats and kittens need to flourish. Cat Haven's adoption program has rescued and found loving homes for over 10,000 cats and kittens since 2000. Cat Haven raises money throughout the year for programs, operating expenses and building/shelter requirements. Cat Haven depends on volunteers and donors to continue its work.
