What's your purrmance story with your cat?
An open book is an invite for affection. Irving knows that should I crack a good piece of literature, my intention is to remain in place and read. However to the brilliance that is Irving, a book says I will not be mobile and am in a prime position for affection, attention and belly rubs.
A novel approach indeed.
