A little about me...
Rocket is a free-spirited firecracker, exploding with energy, fur, and love! Native to South Carolina, this five-year-old shepherd and collie mix found his Virginia family through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Adopted on the Fourth of July, he burst into his Dog Mom’s life with color and chaos, causing her happiness to soar to new heights!

After his original rescuer generously paid forward an intensive heartworm treatment that saved his life, Rocket and his Dog Mom have been healing holes in their hearts together since 2017. With a new lease on life, the sky is the limit for this joyous pup!

When he is not frolicking on the Cape Hatteras beaches in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, he enjoys chasing squirrels, cats, and cicadas; playing fetch with his favorite bacon-scented, green rubber bone; hiking the Shenandoah Valley trails; eating peanut butter, hot dogs, and cheese; or dreaming the day away on the couch.

A 2019 graduate of Wholistic Hound Academy’s Good Dog 101 and Walking Nicely on a Leash classes, Rocket (selectively) follows sit, down, and stay commands for a high-value treat or ear scratch (when he feels like it).
