Maya has an interesting story. She came to CHA through Delaware County Humane Society . She and I met in intake. She would not walk on the smooth floor and she climbed on my lap when I was giving her meds. I knew I had to have her. With her being as gorgeous and lovey as she is, I was afraid someone would adopt her before I could. So I drove in a blizzard hoping the shelter would be open. Low and behold Carol Murray was holding down the fort. She knows NO stranger loves all people and animals. I changed her name to Maya for her beautful blue eyes. There is a maya blue that is identical to her eyes! Maya has become the honorary dachshund in the family. at 11.5 years old she still plays like a puppy! I feel so lucky to be her Mom! Thanks CHA!
