Tell us a little something about your dog (what they mean to you, your favorite thing about them, what they have taught you, or their rescue story! Be creative!
Jäger (FKA Yeager, which was not German enough for a handsome Dachshund) was one of my very first foster dogs, and it was love at first sight! We made him an official "foster fail" by adopting him on February 14, 2011, just two weeks after we met him. He was full of attitude, like most dachshunds, but he loved a bath and insisted on a "blowout" with the hair dryer afterward. This picture was taken by a friend as Jäger romped and played in her yard. Jäger was 6 when we adopted him, and unfortunately was only with us for just over a year. He passed on November 4, 2012, and I was heartbroken. He was the second dachshund to be a part of my family, and I loved him dearly. I have since rescued two more dachshunds, and fostered dozens in his honor. He is my inspiration to rescue!
