Her picture is a little blurry but her story remains very vivid. Scout was surrendered to a kill shelter in Rowan, NC at 16 years old. I saw a plea on Facebook for transport to CDR and offered to help. I didn't know Gina but had heard good things about her rescue. When we pulled up, Gina came out of the kennel and greeted me with a big hug! I was very emotional and started to cry - she told me it would be ok. I offered to foster Scout as a sanctuary. Gina agreed and took her to the vet to make sure she was healthy enough. Sadly Scout was dying and passed away 2 days later. The owner knew she was sick and didn't want to make the decision to have her euthanized. Gina took that burden off of them. She is an amazing rescuer and wonderful friend.
