We adopted Olivia from the Humane Society of Union County NC. She was rescued after being dumped at a school playground in Monroe. We fell in love with her the first time we saw her and knew she had to be a part of our family. After adopting "Miss Olivia" we realized that she had been abused, as she was skittish around people especially men. We tried toys, treats and a big comfy dog bed, but she did want to have anything to do with any of them. It became apparent that she had never had any of these things to enjoy. All we could do was show her patience, love and wait for her to trust us, which only took her about a month. Olivia is now an official princess in our eyes. She has become a real social butterfly of our neighborhood and loves everyone she meets.
