Pet's Story
My boyfriend and I adopted Zoey from a shelter, she was one of eight huskies that had been surrendered. Estimated at 4 years old we were told she already had arthritis in her hip and had been hit by a car, leaving her walking with a permanent limp. We took her to our local vet and discovered she actually had a luxating patella (popped kneecap) and arthritis had developed because of it. The vet discourged us from surgery but encouraged as much exercise as Zoey could handle (paired with daily doses of glucosamine). Zoey hikes with us every weekend through the national forest, and frequently accompanies (more like pushes) me on runs. She is always asking to go on another adventure. Despite any hardship she may have experienced, Zoey is the sweetest little ham. She always has us laughing and keeps us active, we absolutely adore her!
