A little about me...Beau (a Beauceron - Chow Chow mix) came to use through CDR by way of a kill shelter in NC. He was a family turn in, and although we don't know his story, we know he is afraid of men wearing hats and glasses...and children! However, we are so lucky that this goofy guy came our way and is a great family addition! We met Beau downtown DC, courtesy of Beau's foster dad, Brian. Accompanied by our Nakita, a Beauceron-Lab mix, we met Brian and Beau on a very rainy day. What seemed like a rocky start turned into an instant friendship as Nakita and Beau became fast friends even before we left DC on that fateful day! They are inseparable and good for each other and for us too! Although Beau came nearly as a "blank slate" he quickly learned commands and manners modeled by Nakita, a Virginia shelter adoptee who was so well trained when we adopted her. Beau loves his toys and sticks and is never long without one or the other. Pictured here is Beau in Montana, highlighted by a gorgeous autumn day just after a light snow dusting! We are so fortunate that Beau is a great traveling companion and has put thousands of miles "under his collar" along with his best dog friend Nakita and our three cats, traversing the country via RV and LaQuinta Inns! Thank you CDR for Beau and all you do for the dogs and kitties and people you unite!
