Rules

Limit of ONE pet per photo. If entering multiple pets, each pet should be entered separately.
Photos should contain only animals (no humans).
Dogs and cats entered must have been adopted from City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue.
Submissions including photos of pets at local monuments and in government buildings (hi, pups of Capitol Hill!) are acceptable, but photographs should not be political in nature.
Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest.
Calendars are not included in entry, but are available for separate purchase.
The entrant with the most votes overall (cat or dog) will be featured on the cover of the calendar.
The next 6 entrants in each category with the most votes at the close of the contest window at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, September 23, 2022 will win the opportunity to be featured in the months of City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue's 2023 Calendar.
The top 13 vote getters will win a professional on-location photo session by Hannele Lahti scheduled for Saturday, October 1 at a location in NW Washington, DC. If you are unable to commit to a photo session on that date, find yourself unable to travel to the pre-selected location, or do not live locally, artist and graphic designer Keaton Van Beveren will work with you to make sure your cat or dog is equally represented in the calendar .
By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue, Hannele Lahti Photography, and Keaton Van Beveren and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
