I'm Ernie! I know I look a little intense in this photo, but I’m actually a sweet and gentle guy. I take my job as backyard security very seriously—guarding the perimeter from squirrels and other suspicious characters. That said, sometimes the squirrels chase me. It’s complicated.

I came to Colorado all the way from Texas, where I was on something called the “euthanasia list.” I’m not sure what that means, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a vacation. I don’t like other cats (no offense), and I’m a bit of a softie, so the shelter life was not my scene.

Honestly, the contest I should be in is Best Burrower. Under blankets, laundry, towels—if you see a mysterious lump, it's probably me.

If you don’t cast your vote for me, at least cast it for one of the other felines. While I personally find them insufferable, I’m loyal to my kind!
