Your Pet's Story from his/her perspective
Hi, I’m Kalmar … Not Calamari, Calvin, Culmer or c’mere. My family named me after a cool character in a fantasy novel.
I LOVE lots of things but my favorites are to run and chase. Squirrels and rabbits are the best, because they run so fast and get so scared. But I’m not really allowed to do that, so I chase and chew tennis balls. I can do that all day every day.
I love to jump – usually straight up and down - My 3 ft vertical leap is something to see! I also love to walk, hike, eat and cuddle with my family.
My hearing and sense of smell is so much better than my family, so it’s my job to let them know when people come to the front door or pass in the alley. Luckily, I’ve got a super-loud bark, and a deep belly growl that makes people think I’m way bigger than my 35 lbs. They know who the boss is. Sometimes I remind them even after they’ve been in the house a while – just because I can, or if they get a little loud or wave their hands around a lot. One growl or bark always gets their attention!
I think it’s just great that my mama owner volunteers for pet pantry – it’s a great organization! I hope you vote for me to help raise money so pets get the food they need so they can stay with their owners.
