Your Pet's Story from his/her perspective
Hi, I’m Kalmar … That is my photo with my most FAVORITE toy "Jerry". I LOVE to cuddle with him! My family (mainly Nina) named me after a cool character in a fantasy novel called The Wingfeather Saga. My Bestie Nina loved these books.

I LOVE lots of things, but my favorites are to run and chase. Squirrels and rabbits are the best, because they run so fast and get so scared. But I’m not really allowed to do that, so I chase and chew tennis balls. Seriously, I can do that all day every day.

I love to jump – usually straight up and down while I wait for my owner to throw the ball. My 3 ft vertical leap is something to see! I also love to walk, hike, eat and cuddle with my family.

My Dad started to walk me after his dinner. Sometimes I have to remind him – so I sit right by him at the table and as soon as he stops eating, I drag him out the door. It’s good for me and it’s good for him.

My family doesn’t hear or smell very well. So it’s my job to let them know when people come sneaking around the front door, or in the alley. Luckily, I’ve got a super-loud bark, and a deep belly growl that makes people think I’m way bigger than my 35 lbs. They know who the boss is.

I think it’s just great that my Mom volunteers for Colorado Pet Pantry – it’s a great organization! I hope you VOTE for me to help raise money so pets get the food and supplies they need so they can stay with their owners. Every vote is a Dollar for Pet Pantry! Thank you!
