Sugar is a rescue from the Carolinas. We’ve had her 12 years, and she was estimated to be two years old when we adopted her. She is the sweetest girl and stole our hearts from the first day we brought her home. She has the physical and behavioral characteristics of a Carolina dog also known as an American Dingo.

Fun Facts
Sugar instantly loves every person she meets! Tail wags and glorious looks of affection are her specialty and prove irresistible to every visitor. Also, Sugar is a fantastic shedder and will get her white hair all over you especially if you are wearing dark clothing. She doesn’t mind. It’s no trouble at all. In fact, right after you vacuum the whole house, she will make sure to leave tumbleweeds of hair everywhere within five minutes. Sharing her hairy glitter is Sugar’s love language!

Favorite Hobbies
Sugar absolutely loves being outside. Her favorite strategy for communing with nature is to dig a hole the size of her body, so she has a soft, cool place to observe the birds, squirrels, bunnies, and gardening human. Since variety is the spice of life, Sugar has observation holes in many places: under the porch, under a tree, behind a giant hosta, under a holly bush, in the flower patch. Since Sugar is 98 years old, napping is her second favorite hobby. She loves stretching out on the couch with her fan blowing gently over her while she dreams of chasing the aforementioned birds, squirrels, and bunnies while getting hugs and ear scratches from the gardening human who must take breaks to brush Sugar’s thick, luxurious tresses outside in an effort to reduce vacuuming like a lunatic inside!
