Contest Rules- Dogs, cats, and other companion pets (like small mammals and birds) are eligible.
- Photos may contain up to two pets and should not include wildlife or humans.
- Your pet does not have to be adopted from the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) or live in Connecticut to be eligible to enter the contest.
- All pet contestants must be owned by the person submitting the photo for the contest. Or written permission must be obtained and sent to Giving@CThumane.org.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks are not eligible for submission.
- Offensive or indecent photos will be removed from the contest at the discretion of CHS staff.
- Digital copies of photos submitted become the property of the Connecticut Humane Society and may be used without additional consent in other print or electronic publications, including social media.
- Fraudulent entries of any sort will be disqualified from the contest at the discretion of CHS staff.
GuidelinesSubmission Guidelines:
- Photo submissions will be accepted from 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 until 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 31, 2026. Register early to maximize your voting potential!
- Each photo submission is just $15 (maximum 2 pets per photo).
- Mailed and hand-delivered entries will not be accepted.
Photos Guidelines:
- Photos must be in full color.
- Landscape/horizontal photos are best.
- High-resolution photos are requested, however, submit what you can and we'll inform you of any quality concerns.

Votes:
- Votes are cast online. Each vote is $1, with a minimum purchase of 5 votes at a time.
- There is no limit to the number of votes that can be cast. Keep an eye on the leaderboard to see how your pet’s vote count is doing.
- Voting is open to the public; some pets may receive votes outside of your personal network.
- Incentive prizes are available based on the number of votes your pet receives. The more votes earned, the more you win!
- Voting will close at 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 31, 2026.
