How do I enter my pet’s photo?
What does it cost?
- The entry fee is $15 per pet photo.
- Reserve-a-Spot on the calendar for your pet’s birthday or Gotcha Day for just $8 per date.
What are the eligibility requirements?
- Dogs, cats, and other companion pets, like small animals and birds, are eligible.
- Your pet does not have to be adopted from the Connecticut Humane Society or live in Connecticut to be eligible to enter the contest and win a spot in the calendar.
- Please do not include wildlife or humans in the photo.
- No more than 2 pets in a single photo. Entries with 3 or more will be disqualified from the contest.
What are the submission guidelines?
- Photo submissions will be accepted until 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 31, 2026.
- Mailed and hand-delivered submissions will not be accepted.
How does voting work?
- Votes are $1 each. You can vote for a pet as many times as you'd like!
- Click on “View Entries” at https://gogophotocontest.com/ConnecticutHumaneSociety. Search the pet's name, and click on their photo, then cast your vote(s) on the pet's page.
- Easily share your pet's photo entry on social media by using the share buttons on their page. Share with your friends and family and encourage them to vote!
- The deadline to cast votes is 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 31, 2026.
How many photos can I enter?
- You can enter as many pet photos as you like! Each photo entry has a $15 fee.
Can I enter professional photos of my pet?
- Yes, but you MUST obtain permission from the photographer to enter the photo.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks are not eligible for submission.
What makes for a good pet photo?
- Photos must be in full color.
- Landscape/Horizontal photos are best.
- High-resolution photos are requested, but submit what you can and we'll inform you of any quality concerns.

What are the prizes?
Prize levels are based on the number of votes per photo submission. Voting ends at 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 31, 2026.

How will I know if my pet won?
- The winners will be announced via email. You can also check the leaderboard to see where your pet's photo ranks throughout the contest.
What is the style of the calendar?- Calendars will be a full-color 12-month hanging wall calendar, 11”w x 17”h.
When will I receive my calendar?
- Calendars will be mailed during the first week of December via first class mail.
How do I inquire about sponsorship?
What else do I need to know?
- Digital copies of photos submitted become the property of the CHS and may be used without additional consent in print or electronic publications, including social media.
- Offensive or indecent photos will be removed from the contest at the discretion of CHS.
- Fraudulent entries of any sort will be disqualified from the contest at the discretion of CHS staff.
