Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
I cross stitched this pattern created by Light Unicorn Designs, called Anatomy Brain 1 on 18 count fabric using 20 colors. It is 13,750 stitches and took 126 hours to complete.

The pattern caught my eye because anything related to the brain does anymore, but this one was something different. The flowers and butterflies in this felt like beautiful things can still come from something broken. I am amazed by my husband and everything he fights to overcome everyday.

Bio (include your age, tumor type and date of diagnosis)
My husband and I have been together over thirty years. He was diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma in April of 2018 at the age of 48. He had a craniotomy to remove it and has been dealing with the after effects since. His tenacious spirit keeps me going most days.
