We adopted Gardner the weekend after Thanksgiving 2019. We had lost our two elderly dachshunds within the last 2 years prior and were watching the rescue posts closely for our perfect match. When I first saw baby Gardner's post, it was love at first sight. We went to pick him up the next day. He came with a little goose plush toy and that is how he got his middle name. He fits in perfectly with our family and other two big rescue dogs. Gardner definitely believes he is the leader of the pack. He loves to play hard, steal toys and food, and run fast in our big backyard. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to rescue such a sweet pup!
