Please include a paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
Sebastian has lived a life that would not be the envy of most
cats. Without any choice, he has had to start his life over 3 times
and no cat likes change. When he was 10, at around the time of his
diabetes diagnosis, his human "Mom" became pregnant and couldn't
keep him. She brought him to a kill shelter. Thinking back now, that may have been the best thing that ever happened to him because after he was rescued his foster mom of over 3 years found him. He had a loving home there. In November 2013 his situation there became less than optimal and he was up for adoption again at 13 years old. I had lost my loves Alex and Jackson 6 months before and thought I wasn't ready to adopt again, especially another diabetic but when I read Sebastian's story and looked at his videos on DCIN I knew this boy belonged with me. And he has been with me since December of 2013. Sebastian is now 16 and a half. He is my heart. He is a wonderful boy. He has a personality like no other. He loves people (I can't imagine why), gets along great (most of the time) with my other 2 cats. He takes his insulin like a man and I love him more than I can even communicate. He is a quirky, funny, sweet, smart, adorable, and of course handsome kitty. He has several health issues including diabetes, which we are dealing with, but he doesn't let them get him down. He takes them on, like everything else, with a positive attitude. He has become a very spoiled guy but he deserves it! I know he won't win this, he can't. But I owe it to him to get him in here (a decision I struggled with). Who knows, maybe he'll place and in the meantime might help other diabetic kitties less fortunate than him. He would like that!
