Whenever anyone asks where we got Topaz from we joke and say "we picked him up at Target". It sounds funny, but it's the truth!
This big boy had been dumped outside of the shelter, crossed a highway, and made it to the parking lot of a Target, where fate would have him jump into the car of the best friend of a veterinarian. Alarmed, she promptly drove him to the clinic, where I happened to work!
One week prior, my doberman "Diamond" had passed abruptly and my entire family was heartbroken. When I saw him, I melted. I took him home and this picture was taken that day. That was years ago now; he has been the best dog my family has ever had. The "good one".
Next time someone asks where he came from, it would be more accurate to say, "he fell from heaven".
