Pet's Story or Bio
We met Jake at Bark in the Park 2016. It was a rainy day and we had stopped at Amalie Arena to look for rain jackets on our way to Curtis Hixon Park for St. Patrick’s Day events. As we were leaving the arena, as fate would have it, we stumbled across the event in Cotanchobee Fort Brook Park and decided to check it out. Jake was up on stage and it was love at first sight. We met him afterwards and just knew that he was meant to be a part of our family. We went to the Humane Society first thing the next morning and finalized everything and brought Jake home. Adopting Jake is the best decision we have ever made. He is loyal, loving, and always up for new adventures. Jake is a great running companion and a fun travel buddy. He loves to play fetch and spend time with his grandparents and fur family, Duke and Blue (pictured). He is sorting out his feelings on boating and swimming, but loves the smell of the ocean and running through the water. While it may sound like he’s full of endless energy, he is also a pro at taking naps and cuddling. One of our favorite memories with Jake is our first Halloween with him. He dressed up as Jake from State Farm, Mom was dressed as Flo from Progressive, and Dad was dressed as Mr. Mayhem from All State. We won the best Human-Dog Costume Combo contest and Jake earned himself a basket full of goodies which he deserved after putting up with wearing khakis and a red polo! Jake was also an amazing big brother to our late bunny, Bolt. Jake was very gentle with the little guy and was always checking on him. We are so grateful to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for bringing Jake into our lives. He has changed our lives for the better; he is our best friend :)
