JuliaYour Pet's Rescue Story
We adopted Buddy from K9s for Warriors in Ponte Verda, FL. He was meant to be paired with a wounded warrior however Buddy’s anxiety in large crowds made him unable to complete the program and become an emotional support/service animal. So K9s for Warriors put Buddy up for adoption to the public. He had been up for adoption for about a year before we made the 2 hour drive to meet Buddy. We instantly feel in love with his warmth, playful demeanor, and spotted ears! We think he’s a Dalmatian/American Bulldog mix, but you never quite know with a rescue.
We took Buddy home that same day. He was very anxious and unsure at first. Constantly getting up in the middle of the night and coming into our room to make sure we were still there (licking and nudging our hands). But after about 3 months, I think Buddy realized we weren’t going anywhere and neither was he! We ended up changing his name from Noble to Buddy the Elf because of his curiosity and child like joy. He is the sweetest cow dog you will ever met. He’s wonderful with kids, adults, and other dogs. And at the dog park, Buddy is the unofficial greeter. Greeting every new dog that comes into the park and checking with every dog owner for treats!
