Your Pet's Rescue Story
Tommy Tutone II unexpectedly passed away from his first and only seizure in my arms at the age of two on July 1, 2022. He was my first car accident case as a rescuer and my second foster fail. He won my heart when he got so mad about his cone of shame that he pooped directly on the floor and looked at me as if to say, "What?! You're the one who put me in this position!!"

Tommy certainly used up all his nine lives to their fullest capacity. Not only was he on the Urgent Cats of Central Florida page for a euthanasia deadline after the car accident that brought him to me, but he was faint positive for FELV (he eventually tested negative), had a gnarly abscess, was misdiagnosed with FIP on multiple occasions, AND survived a crazy bout of gastroenteritis...all before he turned five months old. Once healthy, Tommy raised at least five litters of foster kittens once they emerged from their quarantine period, including some singletons in desperate need of socialization. He taught all the cats that came through this home that it was okay and even encouraged to be a weirdo. Many furbabies can thank him for their weird quirks and unique personalities that shone through after his love and attention.

To Tommy Tutone II:
Tommy, you were single-handedly the most obnoxious cat I've ever met. And I've met a lot of cats. You were stubborn. You screeched at the top of your lungs every day for MY food and eventually, sang the song of your people for pills, too, because pills = treats. I still have all my glassware hidden because even the top of the fridge wasn't safe from you.

You taught me patience, and I didn't realize until you were gone how much I actually loved you digging your claws in my shirt to get my attention while I was cleaning litter boxes. My place is so quiet without you, and I hate that. You were my baby boy, my mister man, my annoying work call screamer, my foster fail, and my loving somersaulter. I'll miss the belly rubs, the way I had to convince you that you didn't want coffee, and rubbing your head as you pop up from the side of the bed and purr to say hello.

I love you so much Tommy. Life pales in comparison to your sunny personality. I'll see you on the other side, mister man.
