Pet's Story
Diego was a starving stray, on a highway, in Julian, living on road kill during the hottest time of the year. He had a collar, but it was so tight, I had a lot of trouble unfastening it, and it left an indentation in his fur. He wandered to my gate where my senior female dog started barking. I kept him for the weekend and took him to the humane society in Carlsbad. After six weeks, he was deteriorating and quickly losing weight and taken off the adoption site. I decided to adopt him. He went through obedience training at Pet Smart. He also spent play time at doggy day care, socializing. His favorite thing is catching frisbees. He loves biting water from the hose. I've had him for five years. He's seven years old. His sister is my cat and he's very protective of her. She loves him very much. Diego's photo and I were featured on the San Diego Humane Society promotionals for different events. The photo was taken at the record breaking doggy yoga event.
