Rules

There will be a total of one (1) grand prize winner which consists of a "Pamper Me" gift basket with various items for a pet and pet owner. The prize winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release form in order to be eligible to accept the prize. No substitution or transfer of the prize will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of the The Leader. The Leader reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value. All local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the prizewinner. The prize must be claimed within 30 days of the last day of the contest (January 2, 2019) or becomes the property of the Leader.

The Voting for the contest runs for a total of six weeks (6), beginning Monday, October 28, 2019 at 8am Central ending Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 4pm Central.


ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who reside in the State of Tennessee and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of January 1, 2019. Employees of the Leader and employees of the Tipton County Paws & Claws and Covington Animal Rescue Effort, each of their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (including immediate family members or those living in the same household) and any other print or electronic media operating and doing business in Tipton County Tennessee are not eligible to enter the Contest.

CONTEST RULES

1. All pet photos submitted will be on display from Monday, October 28, 2019 at 8am Central through Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 4pm Central on the Pet Contest photo page(s) via the link available from the www.covingtonleader.com website. There will be an entry fee of $10 for each pet submitted into the contest.
   
   
2. Readers/viewers will vote for their favorite pet/pets. Each vote is $1.00 with a percentage of the profits donated to the Tipton County Paws & Claws and Covington Animal Rescue Effort. Participants are free to purchase as many votes as they want. Those votes can then be cast for any submitted photo in one-vote increments. Voters do not have to use all of the votes at the time of donation. When voters donate and purchase multiple votes, they will be given the option of applying all of the votes to one photo, spreading their votes over various photos, or storing votes in their account. If a voter chooses to store the votes, voter can log in to their account using their ID and password and vote at a later time. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
   
   
3. Photos must be in .jpeg format and have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Higher resolution is not required, but preferred for print reproduction. Photos may contain one pet per photo. Photos must be in color and contain only pets (no people). Any image that includes people, or content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the staff of The Leader, will be removed from the contest.
   
   
4. Photographs may not be edited or altered (other than minor color, contrast, or sharpness adjustments). Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.
   
   
5. Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery on The Leader website and be open to voting by the general public when the voting portion of the contest begins.
   
   
6. The pet with the most votes will be deemed the winner and receive a "Pamper Me" gift basket as the prize. The winner will be published in the Covington Leader print edition on Thursday, December 5, 2019.

PRIZES

DRAWING DATE
The winner will be determined by most votes received by Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 4pm Central. Decisions of The Leader regarding the contest are final. The Leader is not responsible for any issues with network connectivity or uploading or downloading of photos.


CONDITIONS
By entering, entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of The Leader, which are binding and final, and release The Leader, and anyone associated with the production of this Contest, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any claims, injuries, losses or damages (including attorney's fees) of any kind arising out of their participation in this contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize. The potential prizewinner waives the right to assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption. In the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, if prize is refused, not claimed within 30 days or cannot be accepted for any reason, the prize will be forfeited and become the property of the The Leader. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use the winner's name, photograph, likeness and/or statements attributed to winner regarding the Contest, for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation or consent. All entries become the property of The Leader. This Contest shall only be construed and evaluated according to the laws of the state of Tennessee, without regard to the principles of conflicts of laws and submission of any entry constitutes acceptance of such laws. This Contest is void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
