Howdy, my name is Hamlet and I do not think the question is ‘to be or not to be', but rather ‘why wouldn't you want a magnificent pup like me in your family'? I am a southern gentleman from the state of Texas and I hopped aboard a transport heading north to find my new forever family in Wisconsin. I am a cheerful, handsome and playful lad who is sure to bring laughter, love and whimsy to your home. I could share my home with a dog buddy because I am very tolerant and love to play. I do play a little bit rough though so I need my playmates to understand that about me; I do offer play bows to communicate it is all in fun. I have not taken my cat-test at WCHS yet so I really do not know how I will interact with the feline type. If you are interested in adding me to your family and have a kitty you will need to chat with someone on the staff to find out when that is on my calendar. My family could include gentle and respectful children of all ages; I love soft pats, scratches and cuddles so the more people giving me lovin' the better. I do well with all sorts of handling and think a day filled with physical exercise and evenings filled with snuggles would be stupendous. I weigh about 66 pounds so I may be a bit large for your lap but would be honored to lay by your side. I have not had the opportunity to learn any cues but I am a smart boy so I think with your positive and patient guidance I could learn a ton. Maybe we could take some classes together to help keep my brain busy; I accept rewards gently when reminded and I am sure that will be helpful in my training. I am a firm believer in keeping both my body and mind active for a healthy and happy life; we could have so much fun together. My hound ancestors have given me a magnificent nose so I may be a nose-work champion; I'll bet I would enjoy the find-it game. I might also delight in trying things like touch, focus, tricks training, canine sports or dog parkour. Come by the shelter to meet me in person and I think you will find me absolutely delightful.
