Provide a few short sentences explaining what makes your pet the “Cutest pet in Washington, Ozaukee and Waukesha and surrounding Counties” — or maybe all of Wisconsin!
Hi there, my name is Marty and I am looking for a home with a patient person who will help me be the best dog ever; I have a couple idiosyncrasies I would like to work on. I was surrendered to WCHS because I have a tendency to bark and also had accidents in the house. I will always tend to be a vocal boy because not only do I believe it is my job to alert my family to everything I see but I also feel I have a lot of important things to say. I do believe I have the ability to master house-training but am aware that it will take some effort on everyone's part. I do know how to signal that I want to go outside by going up to my person and looking at them but that may not be the most obvious communication method. I would suggest that initially I be given lots of opportunities to go outside so I can do my business; basically, a very regular and strict schedule. And any time I do go potty outside it might be nice if you made a big and happy deal about it so I know I did a really good thing. I have developed a taste for yummy cheese as a reward when I do well, connect with a cue or sometimes just for being cute. When I am alone, I am content in a crate so that I am not overwhelmed with having to manage the whole house by myself. I am OK with calm dogs that are about my size so if you already have an easy-going small dog, we could be buddies; I weigh about 16 pounds. Big, noisy and crazy dogs can make me a bit anxious. Any children in my family should be 8 years or older so they are able to understand my personality, treat me tenderly and not overwhelm me. I have not met a kitty at the shelter yet so we are not 100% sure of my cat compatibility but I believe a cat-test is penciled into my calendar. I am looking for a family who will provide a routine and structure for me and help to introduce me to new people in a calm manner that makes me feel safe and secure. I think it would be nice to get physical and mental exercise every day; a long walk together is a magnificent bonding experience. Having sufficient activity might go a long way in helping me live a Zen way of life. Two things I must confess to are that I can get car sick if I ride in the back seat so perhaps I should either sit on someone's lap or ride shotgun and I have been known to tear up a nicely made bed; I like to think it is my version of Feng Shui. Once I am comfortable with people and my environment, I am a loving and friendly lad who enjoys cuddles and snuggles. I could be the perfect guy for the right family who is looking for an affectionate boy with a dash of spunk. When you stop by to meet me, give me some time to relax and I believe you will discover the wonderful pup I
