Provide a few short sentences explaining what makes your pet the “Cutest pet in Washington, Ozaukee and Waukesha and surrounding Counties” — or maybe all of Wisconsin!Hi, my name is Bell and my motto is ‘a dog comes with three legs and a spare'. To be honest, I cannot take credit for drafting my motto but it is very fitting for me because I am a tri-paw pup. A while back I was transferred to WCHS from South Wood Humane Society in central Wisconsin where I was a stray. I don't recall the details but apparently, I had a mishap early in my life that resulted in getting three pins in my left rear leg. But it wasn't healing properly so my doctor recommended that I simply remove my leg so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. I am doing really well adjusting to life on three legs although on occasion I forget my leg is not there and fall down or try and scratch my left ear with it. I do have a stupendous singing voice and often call out to others to get their attention; that means I really should not live in communal environments like condos or apartments because the neighbors may not appreciate an orator nearby. I could share my home with a dog buddy because I do enjoy playing with other pups; I stay calm, soft and waggy and offer play bows to try and start the fun. I will need any canine housemates to be respectful of me though; I recently came back to WCHS after being adopted because the resident dog did not like me and was treating me a tad roughly. I have to say ‘no' to any kitties in the house though. My ancestors are hunting breeds so I have a strong prey drive and think my mission in life is to chase small furry critters; I would torment any resident felines endlessly. My family could include gentle and respectful children of any age; I am an affectionate gal who loves attention. I am excellent with all sorts of handling and adore tender scratches and cuddles; marathon snuggle sessions after a fun-filled day would be awesome. Since I am still growing, I will be bigger than my current 41 pounds but think I will always be the perfect size to lay next to you; it will be important for me to maintain a healthy weight with regular physical and mental exercise. I do enjoy being active and love long walks, I simply may not be a running partner. I am very smart and already know the cues for ‘sit' and ‘down' and will demonstrate how gently I accept treats if you ask me to perform. I think it would be a blast to partake in obedience classes or maybe focus, touch or nose work; I think training is fun and do like to please my people. I do still need to practice something called house-training so I learn to always do my business outside. A routine, lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master that skill when I potty in the proper place. I am a charming and mellow girl who is friendly and sociable; I promise to be a loyal companion forever. In Latin my name means beautiful, loving and lovable so it describes me to a tee.
