Your Dog's Story or Bio
My dear sweet Daisy, mini wire hair dachshund. We got her as a puppy, and she began exhibiting IVDD symptoms at age 4. She made a full recovery from her first episode, but had another shortly after turning 6, which resulted in permanent back legs/tail paralysis, as well as leaving her completely incontinent. She was not a candidate for surgery. I was devastated, but it was important for me to give her quality of life. Along with crate rest and meds, I learned how to express her and bought her a cart. She has demonstrated the amazing perseverence and resilience most dogs possess! She is a happy healthy girl, and inspired me to adopt "Sam" when he was abandoned by his owners after experiencing the same fate, in January of 2014.
