We rescued Abbey from Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue over 1 1/2 yrs ago. She was not socialized at all, couldn't be in the pen with her doxie group, couldn't be on a leash where someone trying to pet her might get bit; she was being held by a foster person. When we approached her, she was placed in my arms and frightened. I petted and comforted her, then my husband did the same. My husband and I wanted a little princess to be our only child, and Abbey needed to be the only one in a quiet, tranquil environment where she didn't have to worry about anything. Since then, she's come out of her shell. She's very loving and affectionate, smart as a whip, has learned tricks, loves to play, likes people, but shy about introductions, and tolerates other dogs on her daily walks. She's a very happy little girl!
