A little about me...
We adopted Doris from Dakin when she was 5 years old. (She was called Noche then.) She had been at the shelter quite a while, I believe.
She gave us 6 years of joy and happiness, with her predictable un-predictableness and the many many weird sounds she made. (One of her happy sounds was like a nylon zipper.) Sometimes she didn't seem to know what she wanted, but was also clearly put out that *we* didn't know, either.
Doris developed a bad heart and bad kidneys and other things wrong; the vet thought she probably wouldn't live past the beginning of December. But she stayed with us until Aug 2 of this year. We think it was because we loved her so much - she really liked being around people.
The moral of the story is that you never know how special a cat or dog will be. <3
