Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education, Inc. (DARE) views its mission as increasing public awareness against animal cruelty and overpopulation while rescuing and re-homing displaced and unwanted dachshunds and dachshund mix dogs primarily throughout the North Central region of the state of Florida, in the Continental Unites States.
We do this by:- Rescuing and socializing abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned and/or surrendered dachshunds and dachshund mixes by providing temporary safe shelter and medical/dental treatments as needed.
- Procuring temporary foster homes and permanent new homes for rescued dachshunds that will provide a safe and nurturing home environment.
- Ensuring no dachshund shall be adopted for the purposes of breeding or scientific/medical experimentation.
- Providing education to the public on the dachshund breed, puppy mills, and responsible pet guardianship including, but not limited to, humane animal care and spay/neuter practices.
- Displaying courtesy, respect and fellowship toward all volunteers in appreciation of services and support rendered to dachshund rescue and to promoting enhanced teamwork among all rescuers.

A little about me...
Kobe has been a traveling dog since we got him as a pup back in 2003. He drove non-stop to Florida and made many trips to New Jersey. In New Jersey he would cuddle with two aging moms and make their day with his sweet kisses. Kobe is now retired and lives a pampered life. He is almost blind and deaf and has doggie dementia but he still loves to go outside and do a little exploring.
