Billy is one of the most memorable DARE fosters of 2014! (and ever)
Billy's mom was in hospice and passed away, as a result he was all alone and faced euthanasia until Alicia with DARE said she would take him!
Billy was already blind when he came to DARE, with his advanced glaucoma both eyes were severely diseased and the pressure building behind the eye was painful so on December 2, 2014 Billy had both eyes removed.
He had support and love from all over the world pouring in for him as his story and fundraising efforts were shared on Facebook and Twitter. He became an overnight sensation, who quickly adjusted to life in the limelight. He is always smiling and as his forever family we could not be more thrilled with the progress he has made since then. Billy is a therapy dog now. He visits the memory care center where the residents LOVE him. Some of the patients who don't talk to humans carry on conversations with HIM!
Billy has brought so much joy to so many people and we can not be more proud. He has blended into our lives just beautifully and has made it complete. He is our boy and we love him. If it wasn't for DARE he would not be here today to bring joy to so many. As long time supporters of DARE we love sharing the message of rescue and that "different" is OK!
