I met Sidney Bean almost 13 years ago when we went to a rescue to adopt a black lab puppy. That puppy was Sidney's brother. When we got there, we found he had already been adopted but Sid was still available. His brother looked like a lab but Sidney did not. I was ready to walk out but my partner said to me "How do we know if we don't try?" and we left that day with little baby Sidney in my arms. Sid just passed away on January 14, 2026, one day before his 13th birthday, of hemangiosarcoma. My heart will always belong to Sidney Bean, the best chance I ever took.
