Anika has been at DCHS for over 100 days, but her spirit remains unshaken. When she first arrived, she kept her distance—unsure if she could trust anyone again. But with patience and love, she began to open up, revealing the beautiful soul underneath her cautious shell.

Now, Anika lights up every room she enters. Her eyes are full of hope again. Despite testing positive for heartworms and having an old injury or deformity in her back paw, Anika doesn’t let anything hold her back. She’s already received her heartworm treatment and is bouncing back wonderfully!

Anika is truly one of a kind. Her joyful, carefree personality is contagious - you can’t help but smile around her. She adores people and gets along great with other dogs. Out of all the incredible animals at our shelter, Anika has captured my heart completely. She’s more than a favorite - she’s unforgettable.
