Darlington County Humane Society and Wild Heart Brewing have joined forces to celebrate dogs and cats and the people who love them with the Rescue Brew dog and cat contest! One winning dog and one winning cat will have their image appear on the new release of the 2025 Rescue Brew beer later this year. The Rescue Brew beer is a limited small batch production by Wild Heart Brewing in Hartsville, South Carolina.Nominations are open from 10:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 to 10:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Submit a photo of your pet and a $20 donation to Darlington County Humane Society and tell us why your dog or cat is the perfect dog or cat for rescued pets everywhere! Voting for your favorites is from 10:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 to 10:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025 and each vote cast is a $1 donation to Darlington County Humane Society. The three dogs and three cats with the most votes will each receive a $50 gift certificate for pet supplies at Purrs McBarkin’. One grand prize-winning dog and one grand prize-winning cat will be selected by our judges to appear on the labels of the 2025 Rescue Brew Beer.
In addition to the Rescue Brew contest, thanks to the generous support of the Nemec Abbott Foundation, all pet adoptions at Darlington County Humane Society are FREE throughout July 2025. Adoption fees are waived to help more pets find loving homes. Standard adoption applications and approval processes still apply.

We’ll be celebrating all the incredible pets who participated in our first-ever Rescue Brew contest and announcing which dog and cat will be featured on the limited-edition beer cans.
